Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts Project Stream Grants The Elk County Council on the Arts in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Council for the Arts is pleased to announce the availability of grants funds through the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA) Program. Grants are available to support arts activities in Elk, Forest, Jefferson and McKean counties.
What is the PPA? Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA) is a regionalized funding program of the PCA. A total of thirteen local PPA Partners serve all 67 counties in Pennsylvania by re-granting funds to support a wide variety of local and community arts activities. Since the implementation of the PPA in 1997, the PCA has been able to steadily expand the availability of support to many new communities. By providing local administration, technical support and a streamlined application process, PPA has created unprecedented access to state arts funding.
The PPA goals include: ¨ á Expanding constituent access to the arts by (a) making arts programs available to communities that may have been underserved in the past by state arts funding and (b) supporting a wide variety of local and community arts activities; ¨ á á Encouraging and supporting local decision-making in the re-granting of state arts dollars; ¨ á Increasing awareness of and advocacy for government support and funding of the arts at the local and state levels; and ¨ á Enabling the PCA to provide increased assistance to its broad constituency throughout the state. What does the PPA fund? You can apply for any arts activity conducted for the benefit of the public. It must occur in Elk, Forest, Jefferson and/or McKean counties and must have a public component. Both organizations and individual artists are eligible. For profit organizations are ineligible. How much money can I ask for?Grant requests may not exceed $4,000. Most grant awards are less than $4,000.
