Grover Slater

Painting
Kersey, PA

When a painter chooses a medium for expression, it is often chosen because it reflects, to a degree, certain characteristics of the artist. Grover Slater is a retired art teacher and he has chosen watercolor painting because he likes control, but watercolor is free flowing. He likes careful planning, but watercolor is full of blossoms, back washes, runs, splatters and drips. Grover knows that watercolor painting means going with the flow of the medium and this allows him a certain appreciation to a balance of life. Mr. Slater lives at Flower Ridge Studio just outside of Kersey, PA where he spends a couple hours each day, with his partner, caring for the many flower beds.
