Samila’s story began after moving her family to a rural part of Pennsylvania. It is a place where snow sits on the ground for at least six months out the year, and the summers are short and rather chilly. They have a swimming pool for the kids, but the water must be heated all summer long. Their house is surrounded by woods and she wakes up every morning to the singing chorus of birds; She doesn’t have to go far for her inspiration. This land is a lifetime supply of inspiration for an artist who enjoys this subject. The desire to share the beauty of this land, and tell her story about it, is shown throughout the paintings in Samila’s series.
